Petaluma rolling hills, waters & rushes, birding galore, Petaluma slough & boats deeper in on west side, & 101 Bridge, etc., views. Can also go further east & park at the Pt Reyes Bird Observatory’s back lot, on right just past tall glass building.
Directions to get to Shollenberger Park
From Santa Rosa (going south on Hwy 101) or San Rafael (going north on Hwy 101), take the Highway 116 (Lakeville Highway), turnoff in Petaluma and go east for about one mile. Turn right on Cader Lane…at stop sign, going straight takes you right into park. The city park sign is very small and looks like a road identification sign).

Critique on the north side of the parking area for the little Mexican grocery store, across the street from the hardware store-don’t park there though. There is parking on both sides of the street right along there.

Quaint town buildings, barn & open views, meet for 3:30 critique by redwoods with water tank. From Santa Rosa: take Hwy 12 west, through Sebastopol, continue 4 miles, down the hill, turn right at Freestone sign, .2 into town.

3575 Slusser Rd, Windsor From Hwy 101 northbound, take River Rd exit, turn left to head west, turn right on Slusser Rd. PARK ON BLACKTOP at classroom or winery above on right. Cultivated gardens, including at entrance with train car restroom, vineyards and hill views, beautiful.

From downtown Tomales, go south one mile towards Tomales Bay. Park in turnout to left of Walker Creek Bridge. Great view of creek winding down through the valley.

From Hwy 101, take East Washington exit west and turn left on Petaluma Blvd. Turn on B Street and go to the end, turning right into the Great Petaluma Mill parking lot. Views of river, mill, yacht club, boats. Critique along Weller Street.

Joe Rodota Parkway, Llano Rd access….mustard fields, oak trees, marsh growth. Park at Hwy 12 and Llano Rd at Lunardi Electric, (hope to get permission, stay tuned), or just east of Llano, on east facing shoulder. A short walk to Llano Rd,(just south & then west), turn right.

31820 McCray Rd, take last Cloverdale exit “Boonville Hwy 128” but turn right on N. Cloverdale Blvd, right on McCray. River & hill views. Regional park fee applies. Restroom.

Ragle Ranch Regional Park, Sebastopol

From 101 take Hwy 12 towards Sebastopol. Continue through town, turn right on Ragle Rd. to stop sign, 500 Ragle Rd The park features an outstanding grove of oak trees. A nature trail leads to Atascadero Creek, a great site for birdwatching. The park is also the site of a peace garden with a spectacular sculpture created by world-renowned artist, Masayuki Nagase. Park along roadside, or pay $ 5 regional park fee & drive in, stay left, 3:30 critique at picnic table just north of dog park.

Head north on 101 past Healdsburg, take the Canyon Rd exit, turn left, follow Canyon Rd for 2.2 mi, turn right at Dry Creek Rd, go 3.1 mi. Park at Visitors Center on right. Lovely yellow flannel trees across at picnic grounds may be in bloom, drive up hill for a few spots with marina & hill views, i.e. to right of bridge. (The VERY-upper parking lot up at vista overlook not open on Mondays).

11180 Los Amigos Road, Healdsburg
Take 101 north of Santa Rosa, take the Arata Ln exit just north of Windsor. Turn north onto Los Amigos Rd for 1 mile. Turn right at 11180 onto a shale drive; there will be three address, including 11180. Go to the top of the hill. You will see a sign over entry that says Dunnsden. No tasting room. This is a vineyard, not a winery. We are welcome to go anywhere on the property.
Hills, vistas, and vineyard views, 24 acres. Bathroom available.

Private Residence, Sebastopol

Private residence north of Sebastopol, 2878 and 2880 Sullivan Road, Sebastopol. Go west on Graton Rd from 116, turn left on Sullivan, turn right at the graveyard (there is a sharp left just after the graveyard and the right is where this curve is). Go up the gravel road and look for the address sign on the right. The residents' names are also on the sign -- Piers and Smith. Park around the entrance and please don't block the driveway. Bathroom available. Apple trees in bloom, HOPEFULLY, Mt St Helena backdrop.
